i like doing some of these brief articles/opinions where i don't have substack send out emails to subscribers, it's interesting to see what sorts of stats they get from direct-only publications... they are typically lower than usual, but if they get re-posted you never know what sorts of reader-penetration/stats you might see... this is one that wasn't 'news-lettered' to subscribers, i don't feel a need to advertise everything i write -- ct
